Teaching
Giving private flute and recorder lessons has been a continuous element of my life since I was a teenager. Just as my music teachers were key influences on my life, I provide that mentorship to my students - sharing with them my love for making music and all the ways it can benefit our lives.
Today, I have nearly twenty flute and recorder students who range from age seven through adults. You can see me here with some of my students at our Spring 2007 recital. This recital is an important annual event for students and their families.
If you live in the Takoma Park/Silver Spring area and you’d like to talk with me regarding private flute or recorder lessons, please send me an email with contact information including an evening phone number.
For twenty three years I taught pre-schoolers, as well. In the 1980’s, I received training in the Orff Schulwerk method of teaching music and movement. While I have loved working with hundreds of young children and their parents and caregivers, I have made an important career transition. I no longer teach pre-school music so that I may focus on my work as a therapeutic musician.
